The Father John Whelan Library

Introduction:

After the classrooms, the Library is the nerve center of the College. The FATHER JOHN WHELAN LIBRARY has more than 43,000 volumes and subscribes to a number of professional journals. The collection of the Himalayan region attracts users from many institutions in the country. The Library is open on all working days. Library membership is given to the students at the time of issuing of their identity cards. Membership is to be renewed from year to year. The ex-students, who are members of the College alumni association, are allowed to use the reference section of the library with the prior permission of the Principal.

Floor Area:

The total floor area of the library is 70 × 40 sq. ft out of which 30 × 40 sq. ft. is the reading space for the students. 120 students can seat together in the reading area. The library has also carrel for the staff members.

Library Collections:

The library has more than 43,000 volumes. The number of reference books is more than 1,000.The library now subscribes more than 25 journals/periodicals. The number of bound journals is more than 1500.The library has some  electronic-books, electronic-journals, audio-visual and cartographic materials as well.
