Information Technology Club (ITC)

The ITC is organised and conducted by the Department of Computer Science. ITC tries to bring about awareness about the latest developments in the field of IT through seminars, quiz and other such programmes.

St. Joseph’s College, North Point has many co-curricular activities like NSS, AICUF, and etc along with academic studies. In lieu of this ,the Director of the Department of  Computer Science, Fr. John Kennedy SJ, came up with the idea of forming an ITC club to spread  the awareness about the techies field.

The ITC abbreviated as Information Technology Club took its birth in the solitary confined Department of Computer Science on 15thMay. This Club is first of its kind in the history of the college. The club is now in its infancy. It had a good start with more than 20 volunteers pouring in for the first informal meeting of the Club which was held on the 15th of May itself.

Mr. Anil Singh was appointed as the Animator of the Club by the Head of Department  as well as the founder of the ITC, Fr. John Kennedy SJ. Before starting off with the activities, a voting was carried out for the election of the office bearers John Britto Chettri of 2nd year B.Sc. Computer Sc honors was chosen as the President ,Reena Mittal of IInd  year Computer Sc honors  and Tara Devi Tamang of 2nd  year B.Sc Computer Sc. General were appointed as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Club respectively.

The Club is now on its way for full-fledged acitivities such as conducting seminars, quiz programmes bringing awareness of the latest developments in the field of IT, maintaining college website i.e. collecting materials, generating and editing campus news, writing articles, taking interviews of the people etc. We hope the Club will not only flourish in the Department of Computer Science but it will make its name in the whole College itself.
